Janet Messer is an autonomous Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with nearly twenty years of counseling experience with individuals, couples, children, and families. Janet has over eighteen years of experience as an educator in Kentucky and Tennessee. Her educational background includes a Bachelor's degree (Elem. Ed.) from Bethel University, a Master's degree (Elem. Ed.) from Tennessee Technological University, a Rank I in Elementary Guidance and Counseling, and a Master's degree (Mental Health Counseling) from Trevecca Nazarene University.

 

Ms. Messer is a certified supervisor for the Kentucky Board of Licensed Professional Counselors.  Additionally, Ms. Messer is certified as a Master Addictions Counselor (American Association of Forensic Counselors), a Juvenile and Youthful Sex Offender Community Treatment Provider (Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice and and national certification), an Adult Sex Offender Community Treatment Provider (Kentucky Sex Offender Risk Assessment Advisory Board), and a Batterer Intervention Program provider for domestic violence offender treatment for males and females (Kentucky Certification). Ms. Messeris also trained to use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy techniques and has extensive experience working with sexual abuse victims.
